Payments Terms
These terms apply when a Rib Creative workspace or project uses payment features inside apps, previews, exports, or other projects created with Rib Creative. They supplement the Rib Creative Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Project-owned Stripe model
Rib Creative lets project owners configure their own Stripe account keys for a project. The project owner supplies the Stripe publishable key, secret key, and webhook signing secret, and Rib Creative stores those values as encrypted project runtime secrets with safe non-secret metadata.
Rib Creative does not create Stripe seller accounts for users, does not process user-app customer payments as a payment platform, does not collect application fees on those transactions, and does not assume losses, negative balances, chargebacks, fraud losses, reserves, or payout obligations for the project owner's Stripe account.
Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, the workspace, project owner, or merchant accepting payment through its app is the seller and merchant of record for the goods, services, subscriptions, donations, memberships, digital products, bookings, or other transactions sold through that app. Rib Creative is not the seller of those items and is not responsible for the merchant's customer relationship.
Merchant responsibilities
- Merchants are responsible for products, services, content, pricing, descriptions, availability, checkout disclosures, fulfillment, delivery, support, cancellations, and customer communications.
- Merchants are responsible for taxes, invoices, receipts, legal compliance, refund policies, disputes, chargebacks, fraud losses, negative balances, buyer claims, and regulatory obligations tied to their payment activity.
- Merchants must maintain their own Stripe account, payment settings, tax settings, business information, payout configuration, webhook configuration, customer notices, and compliance information.
- Merchants must publish and honor their own customer-facing terms, refund policy, privacy notice, shipping or delivery policy, support contact, and legally required disclosures.
Stripe terms and restricted businesses
Merchants are subject to Stripe's applicable legal terms, including the Stripe Services Agreement, Stripe payment method terms, Stripe privacy terms, and Stripe's restricted and prohibited business rules. Merchants must not use Rib Creative payment features for prohibited, restricted, fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, sanctioned, high-risk, or unlawful activity.
Without limiting the prior sentence, merchants must not use payment features for phishing, credential theft, malware, counterfeit goods, illegal products or services, unauthorized financial services, deceptive subscriptions, chargeback evasion, money laundering, sanctions evasion, misuse of a third party's Stripe account, collection of payment credentials outside approved Stripe flows, or any business that Stripe or Rib Creative determines creates unacceptable legal, financial, reputational, or platform risk.
Risk, refunds, and disputes
Refunds, disputes, chargebacks, negative balances, fees, fraud losses, reversals, reserves, and customer claims are the merchant's responsibility except where Stripe expressly assumes responsibility under its own terms. Stripe may require verification, restrict an account, hold funds, request additional information, apply reserves, close accounts, or refuse service.
Merchants remain responsible for the commercial relationship with their customers and for resolving customer issues. A merchant must not instruct customers to contact Rib Creative for merchant refunds, delivery issues, product defects, subscription cancellations, order support, chargebacks, or tax questions unless Rib Creative separately agrees to provide that support.
Platform enforcement and payment controls
Rib Creative may review, block, suspend, disable, unpublish, limit, or remove payment features, checkout, subscriptions, refunds, dispute handling, webhook usage, connector permissions, hosted apps, domains, exports, or workspace access for risk, suspected fraud, abuse, chargeback concerns, legal requirements, sanctions concerns, Stripe requirements, processor requests, platform integrity, non-payment, misleading activity, restricted businesses, or violation of Rib Creative terms.
Rib Creative may require additional information about the merchant, products, services, pricing, fulfillment model, customer support process, refund policy, domain, app content, or transaction activity before enabling or continuing payment features. Rib Creative may also preserve logs and payment metadata needed to investigate abuse, respond to provider requests, enforce terms, and comply with law.
Platform subscriptions and Rib Cloud charges
Payments made by a workspace to Rib Creative for platform subscriptions, credits, hosted infrastructure, build usage, AI usage, storage, or other Rib Creative services are separate from payments accepted by a merchant through its own Stripe account. Rib Creative may be the merchant of record for Rib Creative subscription or platform charges, while the app merchant remains responsible for its own customer transactions.
Exported projects and external hosting
Rib Creative's no-lock-in model lets users export supported projects and operate them outside the platform. After export or external hosting, the merchant is responsible for configuring Stripe, checkout keys, webhooks, tax settings, fulfillment logic, customer notices, secrets, hosting, security, compliance, and support in that external environment. Rib Creative is not responsible for payment flows modified or operated outside Rib Creative infrastructure.
No custody, escrow, or financial advice
Rib Creative is not a bank, payment processor, escrow agent, money transmitter, tax advisor, accountant, law firm, financial advisor, or insurer. Rib Creative does not guarantee payment authorization, settlement, payout timing, dispute outcomes, tax treatment, revenue, conversion, or customer demand. Merchants should review their payment, tax, accounting, financial, and legal obligations with qualified advisors before accepting live payments.
No legal, tax, or financial advice
Any examples, templates, AI-generated checkout logic, documentation, or implementation guidance provided by Rib Creative are for product operation and developer convenience only. They are not legal, tax, accounting, compliance, financial, or business advice.
